Narcissu is a dramatic and touching free visual novel game which was created and published by Stage Nana and released in the year 2005. This game has a prequel series called Narcissu: Side 2nd which was released in 2007.
The anonymous protagonist* is suffering from a terminal illness (I researched and found it was lung cancer). He is transferred to the 7th floor of a hospital, where he will be cured, probably. There he meets a cheerful girl Setsumi, who is few years older than him and is also suffering from an unknown terminal disease.
There Setsumi tolds him that,'7th floor is the place where you are left to live and die. It's the prison. You either die there or at home, no exceptions.' He starts to open up with her, and with that, they both come to the conclusion that they don't want to die either there or at home.
Driven by the pictures of Narcissus, they decided to steal the protagonist's parent's car and escape, to Awaji Island, to see the flowers...
*anonymous protagonist: the name of the protagonist of this game was never mentioned in this game.... neither in the Narcissu: Side 2nd but is revealed to be Yu Atou in various supplementary works, such as the light novel and manga adaptions.
